Little Pink Drill 501150 Review

Last Updated: 22.01.22

Notable features

A product aimed at women, this drill driver is light, compact, easy to use and control.

You’ll get a lot of battery life out of a Li-Ion 12 V, and as if this weren’t enough, there are 2 of them included in the package, together with a 1.5-hour fast charger and 5 bits.

It performs well for a middle of the range 12 V drill driver, with 1,350 RPM of maximum speed as well as a hi-torque gear.

Remarkably versatile, with a 2-speed gearbox and 18 clutch settings it can adapt to most household applications.

Known issues

We really haven’t found any common complaints regarding this item; one might only suspect that it’s not the most durable drill ever, considering the low specific weight.

Main features explained

You don’t have to be a marketing genius to deduce that the Little Pink Drill is aimed towards the fairer gender, but taking a look at the performance specified for this product will surely drive you to ask “why?”, as it is in no way weaker than most equally priced drills on the market.

It is not for us to tell why the manufacturer decided to artificially limit its user base in this way, but we can tell you that this Little Pink Drill works out of a 12 V Li-ion battery claimed to allow in excess of 3 hours of working life for a 1.5 hours recharge time. On top of that, you’ll get 2 of them with each pack, along with a charger.

Its transmission is equally impressive, at least for the class, with a 2-speed gearbox that goes from 0-400 RPM for full torque and from 0 to 1350 RPM on the maximum speed setting. The clutch allows for no less than 18 positions so that cautious ladies might better adapt to the speed requirements of the task at hand. One of the 18 is, of course, a reverse function, for pulling out screws.

Its design is friendly and the handle is narrow enough to comfortably fit a woman’s smaller hands, and at 9 x 7 x 2 inches this product is small enough to be used in tight spaces with an LED lighting the work area. Even so, the specified weight of only 2 pounds, seems unbelievable, and must not include the battery.

Reported to be very easy to use, this unit works with a keyless chuck, which will allow you to change bits on the go, one-handed. Another nice feature is a battery charge indicator, which mysteriously gets overlooked by a lot of manufacturers despite the convenience it offers.
